An afternoon at Père Lachaise Cemetery

My wife has a “thing” for cemeteries…. So, while in Paris she insisted that we take a trip over to Père Lachaise.  I’ll have to admit, it wasn’t only interesting but beautiful as well.  If you’re in Paris I’d suggest grabbing a cab and spending an afternoon there.  It’s home to hundreds of “famous” dead people and walking its tree-lined paths can be a true lesson in history. Remember to pick up a map at the information center – the cemetery covers 119 acres and it can be easy to get lost. Make sure you check the hours of operation and know the closest exit – you don’t want to get locked in overnight.  http://www.pariscemeteries.com/pages/perelachaise.html
